How much does POSUSA cost?

The software is free. There's no monthly fee, no setup fee, no contract and no required hardware.

How does the card fee work?

The card fee is an optional charge added to card payments at checkout. It's 4% by default, and you can set it anywhere from 0% to 5% in Settings. It's calculated on the subtotal before tax, applies only to card payments, and shows at checkout so customers see it before they pay. Cash customers pay the listed price.

What if I don't want to charge a card fee?

Turn it off in Settings and every customer pays the listed price. You then cover processing yourself: about 3.9% + 30¢ per card transaction, which is Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ plus POSUSA's 1%. You only pay it when you take a card. Cash sales cost nothing.

Are there any other fees?

No. There's no monthly fee, setup fee or cancellation fee. POSUSA runs on any device with a web browser, so you don't need to buy hardware. If you want a countertop card reader, POSUSA works with Stripe Terminal readers, which you buy directly from Stripe.

What does Square cost?

If you set up Square during signup, Square's own pricing applies to the card payments you take through Square. Square runs separately from POSUSA, and POSUSA doesn't add a fee to Square payments.

When do I get paid?

Card payments taken in POSUSA go to your own Stripe account. Stripe deposits them to your bank on the schedule set in that account, typically about 2 business days.

Can I cancel POSUSA?

There's no contract and no bill, so there's nothing to cancel. Stop using it whenever you like. To delete your account, email support@posusa.com and we'll take care of it. See other common questions.
